About Us
Our story
Thanks for using and contributing to Caltech's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Database. The DEI database is truly a collaborative effort and is a living, public collection of all Caltech initiatives towards improving Caltech's diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level -- department, division, and institute. Community members can browse, filter, and sort through the database to find support and resources, get involved in a DEI initiative, and collaborate with others working towards similar goals. The DEI database is a student-led, CCID-endorsed initiative designed to help Caltech be transparent about its DEI efforts, stay accountable for ongoing improvement, and celebrate its progress. The database is currently hosted on Airtable, and any community member can add entries for initiatives that they have been involved in through the entry forms!
This database was formed by Marcus Lee and Victoria (Tori) Lee in the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Department to help the community find resources to support themselves and to find ways to get involved in helping others. GSC Diversity Committee representatives Mia de los Reyes, Michelle Qian and Aida Behmard have taken on the role of maintaining the database over the years. We especially want to thank the CCID team for their invaluable guidance and support: Hanna Song, Erin-Kate Escobar, Taso Dimitriadis, Monique Thomas, Alison Tominaga, and Marlene Moncada.
